What Shame Game is
Shame Game is a voluntary accountability tool. You make a weekly commitment (a “vow”) inside a pact with people you invite. If you fail to meet it, a consequence you wrote and approved in advance is carried out. Nothing is published in your name that you did not author and approve, word for word.
Eligibility
You must be 18 or older and acting on your own behalf. You may only nominate consequences that apply to yourself. Consequences that target, contact, or embarrass anyone who has not consented are prohibited.
Consent, and how to withdraw it
Every consequence is opt-in: you sign a waiver and approve the exact content in escrow before it can ever run. You can revoke consent at any time by deserting the pact, which deletes your escrowed content going forward. Desertion is recorded and is itself part of the game.
One exception is disclosed twice during arming: a consequence that has already executed (for example, a published release already on a newswire) may not be fully retractable, because third parties now hold it. We will unpublish anything within our control on request.
Payments
Higher-stakes pacts may require a card on file. You are charged only if you fail a commitment you armed at that level — currently $99 for a newswire release, shown as SHAMEGAME PRESS on your statement. If a release you paid for is rejected by the wire service, the charge is refunded.
Acceptable use
Do not use Shame Game to harass others, to publish content about people who have not consented, or to arrange anything with physical, legal, or financial risk to a third party. We may remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules.
Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is.” Shame Game is entertainment and self-motivation, not professional, financial, or psychological advice. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the social consequences you designed for yourself.
Changes & contact
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in-app. Questions go to press@shamegame.app.
